About Altair Arts
Altair Arts Inc was founded in 2023 by artist Sara Frucht to promote her designs for immersive art pieces called kaleidoscapes, as well as her generative art. Kaleidoscapes are rooms constructed by placing mirrors on the inside of a pyramid at particular angles so that they give viewers the experience of being inside a large three dimensional mandala. After years of promotion, the idea of kaleidoscapes has been gaining wider traction, with projects in the making in Sparks Nevada and Reno Nevada.
Generative art is a form of animated digital art where the images are created by a computer program running in real time. Sara was first inspired to create these kinds of moving images while working on a series of Escher-based screen savers in the 1990s. Escher’s tiling patterns were used as a jumping off point to create the randomly-generated animating patterns. Sara’s screen savers were incorporated into an experimental art and music program called “The Groove Thing,” which was sold as a CD-ROM and was also installed as an interactive exhibit at Disney's Epcot Theme Park in Florida. Sara also created two sets of animations for the generative art and music app Bliss Paint. Her animation was shown at various concerts and raves in the San Francisco Bay Area. Most recently Sara has been creating web based generative art that can be seen at sarafrucht.com. Metal prints of her art are currently being sold at the Sustaining Arts Gallery in Berkeley, CA and from the Makers Paradise Gallery in Reno, NV, and can also be purchased directly from this site.
In addition to kaleidoscapes and generative art, Sara creates art in a variety of media including acrylic painting, digital painting, and laser cut lamps, constructions and clothing. You can see her art on her Behance website.
